THE STUDY ON RESIDUAL LAWS OF Cd IN CHENGDU LOAM AND VEGETABLES

    • The residual laws of Cd in loam and vegetables have been studied. The results showed that Cd content in the soil increased as the concentration of Cd in irrigated sewage water increased. Vegetable roots can absorb Cd from soil and transfer Cd to stems and leaves. There was a significant positive correation between Cd contents in soils and vegetables, and a significant negative correlation between residual Cd contents in soils and time. The absolute amounts of Cd accumulated in the vegetables were in the following order of decrease.common cabbage (leave) >radish ( root ) > lettuce ( stem ) >hot pepper ( fruit ) >cowpea ( seed ) .
