Enhanced Simultaneous Removal of Acetamiprid and Cadmium from Soil and Water in Paddy Fields by Fe-Mn-BC Ternary Micro-electrolysis: Effect and Mechanism

Abstract
In this study, Fe-Mn-BC ternary micro-electrolysis filler was successfully prepared by liquid phase reduction method, and its adsorption to the acetamiprid (Ace) and cadmium (Cd) and its enhanced removal effect on combined pollution of Ace and Cd in paddy fields under laboratory simulation conditions were investigated. The results indicate that the adsorption capacity of Fe-Mn-BC micro-electrolytic filler on Cd and Ace were 6.29 and 23.62 mg·kg-1, which were twice and four times that of the carrier, respectively, and the removal efficiencies of Ace and Cd in constructed wetland (CW) with Fe-Mn-BC micro-electrolysis filler were around 85.00%. The Ace was decomposed into macromolecular substances N-(6-chloro-3-pyridine) methyl-N-methylacetamide, IM1-4, etc. and then degraded to water and carbon dioxide by Fe-Mn-BC micro-electrolysis filler, while Cd was mainly removed through adsorption and precipitation of Fe-Mn-BC ternary micro-electrolysis filler. This study provides theoretical basis and technical reference for Ace and Cd removal from soil and water in paddy fields.
