Abstract: Some new progresses in the study of energy flowsand energetic analysis in agroecosystems,especially the concept ofemergy created by HTOdum and the concept of biophysical capi-tal created by Giampietro et al,are introduced and assessed. Some applications of these concepts in agroecosystem analysis arediscussed.
