Abstract: Through a case study in Pingyuan county of Guangdong province, the impact of rare earth mining on land resources has been preliminarily investigated and analyzed. On the basis of the on going vegetation recovery measures, the recovery effect is analyzed. The influences of recovery measures on soil and water losses, and soil physical and chemical properties are evaluated. More suitable vegetation recovery measures are then put forward.
